Experience one of Bavaria’s most spectacular hikes as you journey through the dramatic Höllentalklamm (Höllental Gorge) to the peaceful alpine meadows surrounding the Höllentalanger Hut. This circular trail offers a perfect blend of roaring waterfalls, towering rock walls, and sweeping views of the Zugspitze – Germany’s highest peak.
The route begins in Hammersbach near Grainau and leads hikers through the narrow, thundering gorge with its steel walkways and wooden bridges. After emerging from the gorge, the trail continues through open alpine terrain to the Höllentalanger Hut, an inviting rest stop surrounded by rugged peaks. The return path via the scenic Stangensteig completes the loop, offering quieter forest trails and stunning vistas.
Whether you’re an experienced hiker or a fit nature lover, this tour is an unforgettable day in the heart of the Wetterstein Mountains.
