By Car:
From Mittenwald, drive toward Leutasch and park at the Leutaschklamm parking lot.
From Seefeld or Innsbruck, head toward Leutasch and follow signs to “Klammstraße” or “Geisterklamm.”
Parking available at both Austrian and German entrances.
By Public Transport:
From Mittenwald train station, it’s a 20-minute walk to the gorge. Local buses from Seefeld also stop near Leutasch-Schanz.
Total Length: ~3.5 km for the main route (approx. 1.5–2 hours round trip)
Shorter route: ~1.5 km (approx. 45 minutes)
Elevation gain: ~150 m
Best time to visit: Late May to early October (closed in winter)
Footwear: Wear good hiking shoes with grip – the metal walkways can get slippery when damp.
Weather: Avoid visiting during heavy rain – the gorge may close for safety.
Accessibility: Walkways are not stroller or wheelchair accessible.
Entrance Fees: The main gorge trail is free, but the waterfall trail (€4 adults, cash only) charges a small fee.
Bring Snacks & Water: There are picnic spots along the trail, especially near the goblin-themed rest areas.
