The Viktualienmarkt dates back to 1807, when King Maximilian I relocated Munich’s main market to make room for the growing city. Over the years, it transformed into a permanent food market and became a center for gourmet delights and Bavarian identity. After being nearly destroyed during World War II, it was carefully rebuilt and has remained a cherished tradition ever since.

By Public Transport: Take the U-Bahn or S-Bahn to Marienplatz – from there, it’s a quick 3-minute walk.
By Foot: Perfectly located in the city center, it’s an easy stroll from top sights like St. Peter’s Church.
